Secondary school students remanded in prison for allegedly assaulting teachers in Osun

An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court presided over by Mr Isola Omisade, has ordered that three students of Ifeoluwa Co-Educational Grammar School, be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre for allegedly assaulting teachers and students of the school.

The students were accused of committing the offences on Feb. 17, at about 10 pm, at Ifeoluwa Co-Educational Grammar School, Osogbo after conspiring among themselves to assault teachers and students of the college for unknown reasons.

The lawyer representing the school accused the students of belonging to Aiye Confraternity and that they were found to be in possession of dangerous weapons during their raid on the school. They were also accused of threatening to kill the school principal, Mrs Adeoye Mary, by destroying her office door and some school properties.

The magistrate ordered that the defendants be placed in custody on Wednesday, February 24, after which the case was adjourned till March, for judgment.
