ATA poly suspends lecturer for engaging in political activities

The spokesperson of the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi, Malam Maimako Baraya, has announced the suspension of a senior staff of the institution, Mrs. Raliya Kashim for her alleged involvement in partisan politics, contrary to the state public service rule.

In a statement issued on Friday, June 17, Baraya said that Kashim was suspended for campaigning for some presidential and governorship candidates using her WhatsApp page. She was said to have posted videos containing campaign materials of the presidential and the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which is a clear violation of the code of ethics for public servants.

The statement averred that the institution is a professional entity governed by rules and it will leave no stone unturn in ensuring that all employees respect the laws of the institution.

Kashim was the deputy general manager, of consultancy services of the polytechnic before her suspension.
