Police arrest school Registrar fo forging letter sacking provost

Police detectives have arrested the registrar of the Federal College of Veterinary and Medical Laboratory Technology, Mohammed Ambursa, for allegedly forging a letter relieving his boss, the Provost of FCVMT, Dr. George-Best Echeonwu, of his post.

Also arrested was a staff of the college and a contender to the post, Dr. Amen-Eleyi Joseph, who was asked to take over from Echeonwu.Incidentally both Echeonwu and Okwori had been interviewed for the job since 2011 and Echeonwu was appointed by the supervising Ministry of Agriculture as the provost.

He has however been in acting capacity since then without confirmation.

Police from the IG Monitoring team in Abuja were said to have stormed FCVMLT, Vom near Jos and arrested Ambursa and Okwori on Monday and whisked them to Abuja for questioning.

Ambusra was said to have gone to Abuja and obtained a photocopy of the alleged forged letter, which he handed to the provost asking him to hand over to Okwori but failed to bring the original of the letter.

The Police were said to be quizzing some top officials of the Presidency involved in the forgery as well as some members of the governing board of the college to determine their level of involvement in the alleged forgery.
