A hree-member team for NUC revalidation exercise at Ahmadu Bello University Distance Learning Centre has expressed satisfaction with the facilities and programmes run by the Centre.
Speaking during an exit visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kabir Bala, the team leader, Engr Kayode Odedina, urged that the Centre should be encouraged to further improve the quality of its programmes.
A substantial percentage of money generated from the programmes, according to him, should be utilized for course materials production and staff development.
The team leader, who noted that distance learning was not a new thing in the country, urged Nigerians to take advantage of the programme given its flexibility. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kabir Bala, in his response, thanked the team for the visit, saying the University had taken note of all observations made during the exercise.
The two other members of the team were Mrs Hadiza Ramallan and Mr Gabriel Odama.
The team was in company of the Director, Ahmadu Bello University Distance Learning Centre, Prof Ibrahim Sule and many staff of the Centre during the visit.
The Director, Directorate of Academic Planning and Monitoring, Prof Yahaya M Ibrahim and his counterpart from Directorate of University Advancement, Prof Ahmed D Ibrahim assisted the Vice-Chancellor in receiving them.
