The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given the approval for Ahmadu Bello University's Distance Learning Centre to start four new programs in the 2023/2024 school year.
The new programs are B.Sc Mass Communication, Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS), Masters in Accounting, and Masters in Disaster and Risk Management (MDRM). These programs will be taught through Open and Distance Learning, which means you can learn from anywhere!
The NUC sent a letter on June 11, 2024, to the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, giving the official approval. A panel from the NUC visited the Distance Learning Centre in April to check out the resources and support available for these new programs.
The panel found that the Centre had everything needed for the programs, like skilled teachers, learning materials, and technology. They were impressed with the setup and recommended that the programs be approved.
The NUC wants the Centre to follow the panel's recommendations to make sure the programs are top-notch.
