The newly approved programmes are:

  • B.Sc Mass Communication
  • Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS)
  • Masters in Accounting
  • Masters in Disaster and Risk Management (MDRM)

These programmes will be delivered through Open and Distance Learning, making education accessible to students regardless of their location.

Official Approval and Inspection

On June 11, 2024, the NUC sent an official approval letter to the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. This approval followed a thorough inspection by an NUC panel in April. The panel assessed the Center’s resources, including skilled teachers, learning materials, and technological support.

Findings and Recommendations

The NUC panel found that the Distance Learning Center had all the necessary resources to support these new programmes. The panel was impressed with the setup and recommended the approval based on their findings. The NUC expects the Center to follow these recommendations to ensure high-quality education for students.

Learn from Anywhere

With these new programmes, students have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and skills without the need to be physically present on campus. This flexibility makes it easier for many to pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals.
