Yobe Sate Govt. directs boarding schools to reopen

The Yobe state Governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni has directed the reopening of boarding schools in the state for continuation of the 2020/21 academic session.

The Governor gave the directive today in a meeting with the heads of security agencies and stakeholders to review the security situation.

Represented by his Deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana( Wazirin Fune) according to him the schools Were shut on 28- feb- 2021 following the abduction of students in some parts of the country.

Government has taken necessary measure to protect lives and property of all schools.

Briefing the journalist after the meeting the commissioner for Basic and secondary education Dr. Mohammed Sani Idriss, noted that bandits have been targeting educational institutions and schools abducting students, in Yobe securities are set to protect the schools with the support and cooperation of school management, parent and guardian among other stakeholders.

Also speaking the special advisor on security matters, Brgd.Gen. Dahiru Abdulsalam (Rtd) said the kidnapping of students how ever is just one of Nigeria many security challenges.

Bandits are just prostrating the pursuance of Western education, adding that security agencies in the state are committed to their job

The meeting had in attendance the commissioner of police, sector commandant oparation lafiya Dole, commandant Nigeria security and civil defence Corp, Director security services, special advisor on security matters, and Director cabinet and security.
