The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has disclosed that the council is working to ensure that henceforth, the results of the West African Senior School Certificates Examination (WASSCE) including GCE and SSCE are released 60 days after the examination.
This was disclosed by Mr. Olu Adenipekun, the Head of National Office (HNO), WAEC in Nigeria. According to him, this development which is tagged: “Project 60” is part of the councils moves to deliver quality services.

He mentioned that this will take effect from this tear. This implies that candidates sitting for 2017 May June examination are to expect results 60 to 65 days after the end of the examination. He further disclosed that in the next two years, WAEC should be able to deliver candidates results 45 days after the end of the examination.

He however did not indicate if this move by WAEC is due to the recent announcement by JAMB that candidates using awaiting results should ensure they upload their results before the end of August 2017.
Be that as it may be, we believe that if WAEC will keep to its promise to release the result of 2017 May/June SSCE within 60 to 65 days after the examination, it will be a good for many JAMB candidates applying for the 2017 UTME as their O’level results will be out before the deadline given by JAMB for submission.
