Business Transformation Officer
Job Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Job Purpose
- Under the overall responsibility of the Head of Area Office, the incumbent will be focused on improving the value of technology in the Country Office.
- Through working with our internal clients, building strong relationships with senior management and key stakeholders, continual service improvements and mainstreaming of innovations, the shift to a new digital landscape supports our operational requirements.
Education:
- Advanced university degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or trainings/course.
Experience:
- Five years or more (of which three international) of post-graduate progressively responsible professional experience in humanitarian aid operations and/or business systems analysis, design and development.
- Has aligned IT strategies with business strategies and requirements.
- Has managed, coordinated and actively executed emergency response operations;
- Has managed large projects requiring innovative recommendations and approaches, at Headquarters and field.
- Has built strong relationships with internal and external partners to identify key business issues and identify new/improved IT solutions and services.
- Understanding of poverty dynamics, social protection principles and their application to current national economic and development issues.
Languages:
- International Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese.

Security Operations Support Officer
Job Location: Abuja
Job Purpose
- To support the management of WFP’s security day-to-day operations to facilitate the effective delivery of programmes that meet food assistance needs and maintain the security and safety of WFP personnel, activities and facilities.
Education:
- Advanced University Degree in Security Management, International Relations; Law Enforcement or other related field, or First University Degree with extensive work (minimum 5 years of additional years of related work) experience and/or training/courses
- A Diploma obtained from Military/Police Academy with qualifying relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the First University Degree.
Experience:
- Typically one year or more of progressively responsible professional experience in security management (relevant military, policy or corporate) and/or security risk management, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Good theoretical understanding of security management concepts and principals with a knowledge of best practices, techniques and processes.
- Ability to assimilate a range of information and make basic analyses to support the development of efficient solutions.
- Good communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to different situations and individuals.
- Ability to contribute to and/or deliver effective briefing and training, assessing participant needs.
- Experience in managing support staff.
- Knowledge of common business principals and processes and the ability to quickly assimilate UN/WFP specific processes and systems.
- Language: Fluency (level C) in English language and the duty station’s language, if different.

Logistics Officer
Job Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Job Purpose
- To facilitate the management of Logistics Sector/Cluster common service provision through; managing daily operations, collect, analyse and report on information, and cooperating with implementing partners to maximise efficiency of the logistics operations and activities.
Standard Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Advanced University degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management or other related field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
- Language: National Professional: Fluency (level C) in English language and the duty station’s language, if different. Knowledge of Hausa is an advantage.
Technical Assistance and Coordination:
- Demonstrates abilities to provide basic technical advice and maintain effective (inclusive, collaborative, unified) logistics coordination mechanisms with humanitarian partners and other relevant stakeholders.
Desired experiences for entry into the role:
- Experience coordinating service providers’ contract execution.
- Experience arranging supplier deliveries and the discharge of WFP vessels (rail, air, or sea).
- Experience in evaluating offers and writing proposals.
- Experience in report writing.
