Uniport Application in Faculty of Humanities 2012/2013 Begins

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates, for admission into the following One (1) Year Certificate Programmes in the Faculty of Humanities, for the 2012/2013 Session:

1. Certificate in Fine Arts and Design
2. French Preparatory Programme
3. Certificate in Communication
Studies
4. Certificate in Religious & Cultural
Studies
5. Certificate in Theatre Arts
6. Certificate in Music

Eligibility


The programmes are open to applicants who have any of the
following minimum

Qualifications


Certificate in Fine Arts and Design:
A minimum of three (3) credits and a pass in English Language in SSCE or GCE O’level, City and Guilds Certificate, or Certificate in Art and Craft, Vocational and Technical subjects such as
Woodwork, Painting and Decoration, Decoration, Metal
Construction, Bricklaying, Technical Drawing.

French Preparatory:
A minimum of four (4) credit passes at SSCE, GCE, or the
equivalent, including English language in not more than two (2) sittings.

Certificate in Communication Studies:
A minimum of four (4) credits in not more than two (2) sittings, including English Language.

Certificate in Religious and Cultural Studies
Candidates must possess a minimum of three (3) credits in
not more than two sittings, with at least, a pass in English language.

Certificate in Theatre Arts
Any of the following:
(a) Three (3) O/L credit passes including English
Language in West African School Certificate or G.C.E., in not more than two sittings.

(b) A Secondary, or commercial School background,
with proficiency in English Language and experience in
Theatre Practice.

Certificate in Music
A minimum of Five (5) credits including English Language in not more than two sittings in S.S.C.E, G.C.E or their equivalent.

All successful candidates at the end of the Certificate
Programme hoping to transit to the 4-Year Degree Programme must possess 5 relevant credits, including English Language.

In addition to the subject requirements, all candidates
hoping to transit to the degree programme must write the
2013/2014 UTME, and have the national minimum score.

Method of Application


Application Forms can be obtained ONLINE on payment of
a non-refundable fee of N8,150.00 (Eight Thousand one
hundred and fifty naira only) made payable to the University of Port Harcourt.

CLOSING DATE:
The sale of Application Forms will close on Friday, 11th January, 2013

APTITUDE TEST:
A University Aptitude Test will take place on Friday, 18th January, 2013.
