University of Lagos, UNILAG 400-level student, Joshua Oyeniyi shines in USA, wins 2015 Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.
The 400-level student of the Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Science, University of Lagos, Joshua Oyeniyi who won the 2015 Global Student Entrepreneur Awards has proven himself a worthy ambassador of the University by also winning the global finalist award at the recently concluded Global Finals in Washington DC, United States of America (USA).
The 27-year old who also won a scholarship to participate in a two-day course on public presentation the Jolley University, USA also received a Certificate of Excellence issued by the University’s Chancellor, Dr. Willie Jolley, for his outstanding performance during the Course.
Oyeniyi formally presented his awards to the authorities of the University of Lagos on Monday, August 17, 2015. Accompanied by the Sub-Dean, Students Affairs Division, Dr. Adebayo and a cross-section of UNILAG students, the awardee was received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research), Professor Babajide Alo, FAS who congratulated and urged him not to rest on his oars.

The Global Student Entrepreneur Award is an international premier award given to full-time high school, undergraduates or post-graduate students, who run a business enterprise, and are also positively influencing their communities. The contest is held annually in over 42 countries globally.
Over 2,000 people took part in the 2015 contest with over 300 young entrepreneurs featuring in the Nigerian edition held in March. Oyeniyi who emerged national winner at the end of national competition, received a prize money, business school scholarship and an all-expense paid trip as the representative of Nigeria to the Global Finals to Washington DC, USA.
