UNILAG, LASU unveiled as hosts of the 11th All Africa University Games

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Lagos State University (LASU) have been announced as the next hosts of the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) All Africa University Games scheduled for 2024.

The All Africa University Games comprises top African university athletes not older than 25 years that come together to compete for various prizes. It is organized once every two years with the last edition hosted by Kenyatta University, in Kenya.

Nigeria, represented by the Lagos State University and the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in the last FASU games was unveiled as the next host of the games overtaking Cote d’Ivoire, which was originally scheduled to host the games in 2024. 

In the last competition, LASU bagged 10 medals to finish 17th on the table, while UNIZIK got just one bronze medal to finish bottom of the table.

Presently, Nigeria ranks 8th out of the 12 countries that participated in the games and is yet to win the competition since it started in 1974 in Ghana.
