UNILAG Gets NUC Accreditations For Law, Accounting, & IRPM Programs

Three groups from the National Universities Commission (NUC) have reached the University of Lagos to conduct accreditation assessments for its Law, Accounting, and Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (IRPM) programs.

Upon their arrival, Professor Mathew Olusoji Ilori, the University’s Director of Academic Planning, guided the NUC teams to various locations, including the Senate House and the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, on November 20, 20-23.

The welcoming party included Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services) Professor Ayodele Atsenuwa, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research) Professor Bola Oboh, and Acting Registrar Mrs. Olakunle Makinde.

Professor Atsenuwa expressed gratitude for the NUC accreditation teams and stressed the accreditation process’s significance as a means of ensuring quality. She reaffirmed the University of Lagos’s dedication to maintaining high academic standards, emphasizing their commitment to meeting required benchmarks in all programs.

In response, Professor I. N. Sada from the Faculty of Law at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, spoke on behalf of the three delegations. He highlighted the importance of upholding rigorous academic standards and continuous improvement within higher education institutions.

Professor Sada mentioned that their evaluation would result in recommendations regarding the university’s level of compliance.

He appreciated the warm reception at the university and assured a thorough and effective accreditation process.
