The Vice-Chancellor of the First Technical University, Ibadan, Prof. Ayobami Salami has emphasized the significance of industry-scholarship relationship. He made this call during the donation of equipment to the institution by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
He appreciated the NSE delegation led by the branch Chairman, Engineer Ademola Agoro for the association’s continued support for the university and stressed the need for a “town and gown” partnership.
Prof. Salami said, “I want to put it on record that among several other MOUs we have signed, the one with the NSE has been active from day one. There is no institution today that can meet its infrastructural requirement by its own resources alone but by having partners that you can actually rely on”.
Some of the equipment donated include power supply systems for voltage level control, voltage monitors, contactor devices for switching, power cards, CPU for a Programmable Logic Controller, Human Machine Interface, Small Control Panel, Choke resistors, motion controllers and sensor devices.
