A 19-year old student of Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife, Osun state has been arrested by the Osun state police command for beating a principal, Mr Ademola Sanusi, to the point of death on Friday, February 5.
According to reports, teachers in the school fled the scene of the attack to avoid being beaten after the unidentified student ganged up with some other students believed to be in a cult group, and attacked the principal.
Though the reason for the bizarre act is still unknown, the student who spearheaded the attack was however arrested and is being detained at the state police command, to help the police fish out his other colleagues who fled before the arrival of the police.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the Osun State Commissioner for Education, Folorunso Oladoyin condemned the act, describing it as indecent and uncultured. He vowed that the culprit and his gang members will not go unpunished.
