Senate Summons JAMB Over Admission Policy, Wants UTME Results Valid For 3 Years

Following the adoption of the motion on “JAMB’s new admission policy” which was sponsored by Senator Joshua Lidani of Gombe South and seven others, the Nigerian senate has asked the senate committee on education to invite the leadership of Joint Admission And Matriculation Board to ascertain and look into the circumstances surrounding the new JAMB Admission Policy.

The senate also told the committee to consult relevant stake holders like the Parents Teachers Association, Academic Staff Union of Universities in order to come up with a more acceptable admission policy.

According to the sponsor of the motion, the new JAMB policy is contrary to the JAMB Act as stipulated in the constitution.

Meanwhile, the senate has asked JAMB to consider increasing the validity of its results from one to three years to reduce the number of yearly applicants.
