Schools Principals to be held responsible for students’ absenteeism in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Government has said that Secondary Schools Principals would henceforth be held responsible for students’ absenteeism as well as untidy school environment.

Governor Isa Yuguda made this known, yesterday, when he paid an unscheduled visit to Government Secondary School, Toro in Toro Local Government Area of the state.

He said that government had committed huge resources into the education sector and frowned against the attitude of some school administrators who exhibit care free attitude in the running of these institutions.

“From now on, I will be visiting schools in the state to monitor the strict adherence to my directives and any school principal who defaults will have his or her appointment terminated. It is so disheartening that up till now, some school administrators still exhibit nonchalant attitude towards their responsibilities, despite the state government efforts in improving their welfare packages.

“Henceforth, the government will no longer condole such laxity and will carry out sanctions on offenders,” he said.
