President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Friday, April 8, in Abuja, gave assent to a bill seeking to establish the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, as a degree-awarding institution to provide academic and professional training.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, and titled: ‘President Buhari assents to bills on the establishment of Nigerian Police Academy, Animal Diseases Control’.
The Academy will be headed by a Commandant, not below the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, and shall be appointed by the Police Service Commission on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police as stipulated in Section 8 of the Act.
