Three principals of public secondary schools in Osun state have been suspended by the state government for reportedly allowing a group of separatists to preach to students in their respective schools.
This comes after a viral video trending on social media showed the group talking to the students about the plan of the Yoruba nation to separate from Nigeria.
The state Commissioner for Education, Folorunsho Bamisayemi issued a statement saying the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola was not aware and never gave consent to the group to speak with public school students in the State. Bamisayemi reiterated that Nigeria is one entity and will continue to remain so.
The government further warned the secessionists to stay away from Osun state and desist from contaminating the minds of young children who are naive.
