The Nasarawa State University, Keffi, is set to expand its academic offerings with the approval of new Postgraduate and undergraduate programs by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The approval for the commencement of the academic programs which was contained in a letter dated 11th December, 2024 addressed to the Vice-Chancellor and signed by the Acting Director of Academic Planning of the NUC Abubakar M. Girei on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Commission stated that the approved programs are to be run on full-time mode in the Main Campus of the University with effect from the 2024/2025 academic session.
Among the postgraduate programs that were approved by the NUC for commencement are; Ph.D. Financial Sector Regulations, Ph.D. Money and Capital Markets, Ph D. Development Finance and M.Sc & Ph.D. Finance.
The NUC also approved the commencement of B. Environmental Health Science, B.A. History and Diplomatic Studies, B.Ed. Early Child Education, and B.Ed. Primary Education Studies.
Other programs approved are B.Sc. Architecture, B.Sc. Building Technology, B.Sc. Data Science, B.Sc. Cyber Security, B.Sc. Broadcasting, B.Sc. Public Relations, B.Sc. Journalism and Media Studies, B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies, B.Sc. Demography and Social Statistics and B.Sc. Statistics and Data Analytics.
The letter further stated that the approval granted for the commencement of the academic programs is as a result of the resource verification visit carried out panels of experts to the mentioned academic programs in NSUK, with a view of assessing the human and material resources available for their establishment.
