Niger Govt sets January 24th as resumption for tertiary institutions

The Executive Governor Of Niger State Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello has approved 24th January 2021 as the resumption date for all Tertiary Institutions across the State.

Niger State Commissioner For Tertiary Education Science and Technology Prof. Engr. Abubakar Baba Aliyu made the announcement in a press statement on Saturday 16th January 2021 and directed that all Lecturers return to their respective Institutions from 24th January 2021 while Lectures to commence 25th respectively. 

The Commisioner noted that on resumption, Lecturers, Staff and students must ensure full compliance with the COVID-19 protocols by maintaining physical distancing and avoiding large gathering of any kind.

Pro. Abubakar Baba Aliyu further noted that there would be proper wearing of face mask at all times within and outside the Institution by all Lecturers, Staff and, students, adding that there would be temperature checks for all those entering the premises of the Institution.

While assuring the Students, Staff and Lecturers of their Safety, the Commissioner said the Ministry has instituted measures for continuous monitoring of compliance with COVID-19 protocols and advised all Heads of Tertiary Institutions, Lecturers, Staff and workers to ensure full compliance.
