NECO shifts exam, requests postponment of 2020 Post-UTME screening

The Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO), at its Special Meeting, held on Thursday, 22nd October 2020, reviewed the progress of the ongoing 2020 SSCE (internal) nationwide.

The Governing Board resolved that the examinations be postponed indefinitely in view of the current security challenges which have disrupted the smooth conduct of the examinations in some parts of the country.

As a result, students in the affected states were unable to sit for the papers already scheduled in the examination time table.

The Governing Board further resolved that the conduct of the examinations will commence in all states when normalcy returns.

In view of the above, the Governing Board directed the Management to write the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (AMB), of the indefinite postponement of the on-going 2020 SSCE and requesting her to graciously direct universities to put on hold the ongoing Post-UTME until NECO concludes the conduct of the 2020 SSCE and the release of the results.

This reprieve, if granted, will allow affected students equal opportunity to take the Post-UTME with their other counterparts.
