Michael Okpara University Joins Exam Ethics Club:

Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, (MOUAU) has joined the Exam Ethics Club.

Thirty members cutting across teaching and non-teaching staff of the university have been inducted into as Exam Ethics Marshall International (EEMI). Their induction is to discourage examination malpractice as well as inducement of lecturers by students.

The inauguration, which held at the conference room of the college room of the Natural sciences of the institution, also witnessed the inauguration of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Hilary Edeoga as a patron of the Exam Ethics Marshals International.

The Founder/Chairman EEMI, Ike Onyekwere said the induction is to spur them on a crusade against examination malpractices.

He said with the trend of ‘sorting’ which is so rampant in the nation’s higher institutions, the new marshals are better armed with the necessary tools to watch out for offenders and report same to relevant authorities.

He warned that necessary actions will be taken against defaulters.

After his decoration as a patron of EEMI, Edeoga, assured the body that all inductees would live up to expectations.

He said many of the lecturers were going through one threat or the other in their determination to instill discipline on some bad elements in the institution.

He appealed to the body to help the university attract more funds from both local and international donor agencies as the university has many projects it would execute using such funds.

Some of the students noted their responsibility. They expressed their readiness to expose anyone involved in exam malpractices. (The Nation)
