The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has postponed the date for the commencement of the registration for the 2022 UTME/DE. This was made known in a statement made available by JAMB’s head of public affairs and protocol, Fabian Benjamin.
According to JAMB, the registration for 2022 UTME/DE will now start February 19, 2022, and end on Saturday, March 26; adding that the postponement was to allow for fine-tuning and upgrade of the registration procedures.
JAMB equally stated that the new and improved procedures for the 2022 UTME/DE registration would be made available on the Board’s website, its weekly bulletin as well as other media outlets on Monday, 14th February 2022.”
New additional USSD code
JAMB has disclosed that the new additional USSD code for profile creation available as from 2022 UTME/DE registration is the 66019. This means that candidates can either use 55019 or 66019 USSD code to create their profile codes and access other essential services offered by the Board.
According to JAMB, this will promote a hitch-free 2022 UTME/DE registration exercise by ensuring that candidates do not have any difficulty whatsoever in the creation of profiles.
This means that candidates can use either the 55019 or 66019 to create their profiles for registration by sending their National Identification Number(NIN) through either of these USSD codes for their details to be pulled from the NIMC database before they proceed to any accredited centre for biometric capturing.
Candidates soon to contact JAMB via Whatsapp for complaints and enquiries
JAMB equally disclosed that it has introduced the use of WhatsApp as additional means for candidates with issues to make their complaints known. This will make it possible for candidates and other stakeholders to have the benefit of instant messaging and solutions to whatever questions or complaints they might have regarding any of the operational processes of the Board.
ASD Technologies, the developer of the WhatsApp solution, announced that the platform would provide help with such things as “step-by-step” registration procedure, for instance, as well as providing a feedback mechanism for effective service delivery.
The platform is not meant to replace but complement the existing ticketing system, thereby expanding access to critical services, among others.
