JAMB to monitor 2021 UTME via live stream, warns candidates against misconduct

The Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) have finalized talks on CCTV live streaming and monitoring of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME). In his remarks, the Registrar of CPN, Dr Muhammad Bello Aliyu, said he was at the JAMB National Headquarters in furtherance of the Council’s collaboration with the Board towards delivering credible and fair UTME. Dr Aliyu disclosed that the Council had entered into a partnership with JAMB to ensure that the UTME is monitored live to forestall any malfeasance.

The CPN Registrar promised that the Council would deploy relevant technology and professionals to monitor all examination centres remotely. This means that there will be live streaming of all activities in all centres, especially during examination sessions.

Candidates are to note that anyone who engaged in any misconduct would be fished out and prosecuted. We, therefore, advise candidates to jettison any idea of engaging in malpractice.

Meanwhile, the board has stated that this year’s mock exercise was a huge success and is a poignant indicator of the Board’s readiness for the main Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination which commences on Saturday, 19th June 2021. Parents and candidates alike are to note that the score from the mock examination would not be added to that of the UTME as the mock examination was aimed simply at exposing the candidates to the UTME testing mode.
