Jamb recently announced that the benchmark 2012/2013 cut-offs for entry into Higher Institutions in Nigeria will be available on 21th May. So many will ask what this announcement means.
The benchmark cut-off expected to be announced on 21th May is to officially specify the minimum cut-off required for entry into colleges of education, polytechnics and Universities. Last year, the cut-offs where as follows;
College of Education: 160 and above
Polytechnics: 170 and above
State Universities: 180 and above
Federal Universities: 200 and above
We, SchoolGist, however don't see the above benchmarks being changed but we can only wait for the official announcement.
This announcement however does not stop individual schools from setting higher cut-offs for various courses such as medicine and surgery.
