Veritas University, Bwari, Abuja, has shut down academic activities following the worsening insecurity in Abuja and its environs.
The Public Relations Officer of Veritas University, Evelyn Obekpa, announced the closure of the university in a statement issued on Wednesday, July 27.
Though the institution said it has successfully completed the 2021/2022 academic session, the statement, however, gave reasons for the closure as the current security tension and the directives of the Minister of the FCT for the closure of schools in Abuja.
Consequently, examinations for 100-level students have been postponed indefinitely and will be conducted at a date to be announced later. The new academic session which was slated to commence in September has been put on hold.
The statement further advised candidates seeking admission into Veritas University for the 2022/2023 academic session to visit the university or the university’s website – www.veritas.edu.ng to obtain the admission form.
