IAUE Qualifying Test for Graduating Students with CGPA of 4.5 and Above

Worried that certain factors may have influenced the first class degrees obtained by some students, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Senate during its statutory meeting on Wednesday July 28, 2021 decided that all graduating students for the year 2021 on Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.5 points and above should make themselves available on Thursday August 5, 2021 at the ICT Centre main campus by 11am prompt for a qualifying test.

Senate took this decision as part of measures to ensure that these students merit the first class degree status so obtained. All those affected are therefore advised to show up at the ICT Centre for the qualifying test in their own interest.

Senate however approved graduating results of students not so affected as presented by the Deans of Faculties of Business Studies, Education, Humanities, Natural and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, Vocational and Technical Education.

The Chairman of Senate and Vice-Chancellor of IAUE Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele commended the Faculty of Business Studies and that of Education for turning in their results on time and urged others to emulate them.

The Postgraduate School Dean, Professor Godspower Irikana also presented results of students for 2017/2017 Ph.D, 2018/2019 Ph.D, 2018/2019 Masters, 2019/2020 MPhil and 2019/2020 PGD and PGDE. Out of the 240 results presented for the Faculty of Business studies, 224 students passed, 5 students failed with 11 results pended.

For Faculty of Education, 224 results were presented, out of which 221 students passed, 2 students failed with 1 result pended.

Faculty of Humanities presented 41 results out of which 40 students passed, 1 student however failed.

78 results were presented for Faculty of Natural and Applied Science, out of which 75 students passed, 3 students failed.

Faculty of Social Sciences presented 54 results, out of which 52 students passed with 2 results pended.

Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education presented 16 results, out of which 15 students passed with 1 result pended.

In all, a total of 653 results were presented by the Postgraduate School Dean, out of which 627 students passed, 11 students failed with 15 results pended. Senate approved the results as presented by the PG Dean.

The Director of College of Continuing Education Professor Samuel Amaele presented graduating results for 2019/2020 and supplementary results which Senate also approved. Senate also approved his request for Ahoada East Local Government Area and Bori to be made study centres for enhanced human capital development

Senate approved request for External Examiner for Graduate School of Business as presented by Professor Joseph Kinanee.

Professor A. M. Onyeozu is now the Head of Department of Adult Education. Senate approved his appointment to head the new department.

Members of Faculty of Business Studies present during the Senate meeting rejoiced as they were mandated by Senate to occupy their new building immediately.

Shop owners at the new haven have also been mandated by Senate to occupy their shops.
