The GE’DA Digital Fellowship, an initiative aiming to empower founders and key executives of nonprofits and social enterprises in Africa, is now open for applications. Catering to professionals between 22 to 50 years old working on any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this six-month intensive professional leadership development program provides a unique opportunity to prepare for impact investment, gain essential skills for managing a sustainable enterprise, and tackle Africa’s global challenges.
About the Fellowship
GE’DA digital has designed a platform that provides an immersive learning experience to build for long-term impact. Selected participants come from diverse sectors across Africa, each committed to bringing positive change through their work.
Benefits of the Fellowship
Successful candidates can win a share of a $3,000 grant and gain access to mentorship based on their performance.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
- Be a founder or hold an executive position within a registered organization.
- Be fully committed to running the enterprise.
- Have at least one full-time employee.
- Lead a mission-driven enterprise aiming for a positive societal impact alongside profit.
- Be available to attend all sessions.
- Be between 22 – 50 years old.
- Be able to attend the launch and graduation event.
- Be interested and ready to scale their organization.
- Have a laptop and reliable internet access.
- Be creating a positive, direct, and intended impact aligned with one or more of the SDGs or the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The fellowship is particularly interested in candidates with:
- Passion for the Intersection of Their Solution with SDGs: The solution must address any of the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Capacity to Bridge Differences: Candidates should demonstrate an ability to connect individuals with differing cultural, socio-economic, and professional backgrounds.
- Orientation Towards Results: Candidates should illustrate their successful track record and ability to generate tangible, positive results.
How to Apply
Applications are to be submitted online by the deadline of July 14, 2023, at 11:59 pm EST. All application materials must be in English. Notifications for the next steps will be sent by mid-July to early August. Selected applicants will advance to the interview stage of the selection process.
