FUOYE debunks yet another fake vacancy notice on social media

Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has debunked yet another fake vacancy notice which has gone viral on social media. The fake notice was tagged: “Non-Academic Staff Recruitment at Federal University Oye-Ekiti(FUOYE)”.

It reads in part: “Federal University Oye, Ekiti, located within Oye community, was one of the nine Federal Universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria, pursuant to an executive order made by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR. Federal University Oye, Ekiti is recruiting into the vacant positions.

“All suitably qualified candidates, who are existing tenured staff on the University’s Payroll, who may wish to be converted from their current designation to fill the under listed vacant Non-Academic positions in the University.

A statement on Thursday by FUOYE Public Relations Officer, Foluso Ogunmodede, said the fake vacancy announcement further listed fake vacancies in non-academic Staff to include Administrative Officer 11, Higher Executive Officer, Security Officer Accountant, and Auditor among others.

While reiterating that there is no such vacancy notice emanating from the Management, FUOYE through the PRO, warns unsuspecting members of the public to ignore the advertisement, adding that the announcement for any vacancy will be made known to the public through legitimate means whenever there is need to do so in the institution.

Members of the public are therefore warned to ignore the fake advertisement online so that they would not fall into the hands of internet fraudsters currently parading themselves on social media and defrauding innocent and unsuspecting Nigerians.
