FUOYE clarification on "No School Fees, No Lecture" policy

FUOYE clarification on

It has come to our attention that claims are circulating on social media stating that Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) requires new students to present their school fee receipts before being allowed into lecture halls. We would like to clarify that this information is misleading and should be disregarded by the public.

FUOYE is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. We have never implemented a policy that mandates the presentation of school fee receipts as a prerequisite for attending lectures. Our primary focus is on ensuring that every student has access to quality education without unnecessary barriers.

We advise all students to proceed with their registrations, including the registration of their required courses, as it is in their best interest for academic tracking and resource allocation. However, access to lecture halls is not contingent upon the presentation of fee receipts.

Before attending a lecture class, students must register for the course. To proceed with course registration, students must have paid their school fees. It is essential to complete these steps to aid academic tracking and resource allocation. How do you intend to attend classes that you do not register for? This policy is in the interest of the students. Pay your school fees and complete your course registration on time.

We have a very compassionate VC who is committed to doing everything right to support the students and prioritize their welfare. Just last week, the University managenment led by Prof. Sunday Abayomi Fasina organized/hosted a sensitization program on NELfund loan opportunities and other university opportunities for indigent students, with NELfund officials from Abuja, SSA to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Student Engagement, NANS national Leadership, and a host of others.

If any student has experienced such treatment, we urge them to come forward with proof to the Student Affairs division as the Vice-Chancellor known for his fatherly approach and dedication tostudent welfare, and we take all concerns seriously.

We are here to listen and address any issues promptly to ensure a fair and conducive learning environment for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Let us work together to maintain the integrity and reputation of our esteemed institution.

Warm regards,

Teslim Ayowale Salahudeen

Personal Assistant to the

Vice Chancellor on Student Matters,

Federal University Oye-Ekiti
