Eighty-seven students graduated from the FirstAcademy Foundation, a tier one training school of First Bank Nigeria Limited.
Speaking at the event, which took place in Lagos on Wednesday, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bisi Onasanya, said it was the final of a 16-week programme in the academy.
"We usher our distinguished graduands into the First Bank family after completing a series of rigorous and in-depth learning sessions designed to enable them successfully progress through their careers in the bank," he said.
According to him, the aspiration of the bank is to continue to be innovative as well as in ensuring excellent customer service delivery.
"As you become integrated into the First Bank family, it will particularly interest you to know that you belong to an institution with exceptional pedigree, as the bank was also voted best indigenous organisation to work for in Nigeria and best bank to work for in Nigeria at the 'Great Place to Work' awards 2011."
The programme produced outstanding students in finance, accounting, among others. The honorary award was given to the overall 'Best Performing Student,' Miss Akorede Apampa, a graduate of veterinary medicine from the University of Ibadan.
The foundation tier one school is the entry level platform through which fresh graduates are employed into the bank.
