A Nigerian man on twitter has accused a Lagos school Elihans college, Ikorodu of trying to evade justice, by helping a maths teacher who allegedly flogged a student to death flee.
According to @RidwanOyewunmi who made the allegations, the deceased student named Boluwatife Omelaja was allegedly flogged by the maths teacher, Mr Emmanuel, on Thursday, 26 November because he was unable to solve a maths question. The student reportedly slumped and died while being flogged.
After the incident, the school management allegedly took the lifeless body of the student to his family, claiming that the boy had slumped and died while answering a question in class, leaving out the part that he was flogged by a teacher.
He also claimed that the brother of the Boluwatife who is also a student in the said school, was prevented from leaving school by the school administration in order to prevent the family from knowing the true circumstances of the death.
The classmates of the deceased student including his brother, later confirmed to the family that the student was being flogged by the maths teacher before he slumped and died.
The student was buried on November 26, in line with Islamic rites, while the culprits is allegedly on the run.
