The Chief government Officer of monetary Derivatives, Mr. Bismarck Rewane, has urged the govt. to take a position in education, saying it's the best asset of any country.
Rewane said this whereas speaking at the Lancaster University MBA alumni dinner held at the Eko Hotel on Friday.
Speaking on the subject, Deregulation and Economic Growth, he said essential investment was required in human capital, which all the expansion would quantity to zilch if attention wasn't paid to education.
He said though Nigeria had achieved persistent growth in its GDP over time, “we are still underdeveloped.”
He said, “Economic growth doesn't essentially result in development. Economic development is achieved through pragmatic efforts of policy manufacturers.”
The University of Lancaster’s Director of MBA, Dr. Jonathan Matheny, said the programme was designed to provide Nigerian students international views and international networking that may impact on the nation’s development.
