Just 2%: Education Courses Receive Low Patronage from JAMBites

According to a  Joint Admissions Matriculation Board document entitled, “the Statistics of choice of institutions,” less than 2% applied to study education and teaching-related courses in the universities . 2% choose to study in private varsities.

Joint Admissions Matriculation Board, JAMB reported that out of the 1.4 million candidates that sat for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, 19,428 candidates – representing less than two per cent – applied to study education. Less than 20, 000 candidates – representing two per cent – chose to study in the more than 60 private universities in the country.
