The association of tertiary institutions in Bauchi state under the aegis of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) has declared a two-week warning strike over the non-payment of their salary arrears by the state government after the expiration of the June 30th ultimatum.
The chairman of the association, Abdulkadir Mohammed who made the declaration at a news conference on Friday in Bauchi, said the strike will commence on Tuesday, July 19 to Sunday, July 30.
The striking institutions are the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP); Aminu Saleh College of Education (ASCOE), College for Legal and Islamic Studies (CLIS), College of Agriculture, Bauchi, and the College of Education, Kangere.
The association added that it is demanding the implementation of the consequential adjustments which are not finalized with the organized labor and the immediate payment of outstanding salaries, resumption of promotion implementation, and annual increment.
