Baseball Would Soon be Introduced in Kwara Schools – Official:
The Kwara Coordinator for Baseball, Jide Abidoye, on Thursday said the game would soon be introduced in schools in the state to popularise it.
Abidoye disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Ilorin.
The former national Team Manager, identified sponsorship as one of the factors constraining the development of the game in Nigeria.
He appealed to individuals, corporate bodies and government at all levels to contribute to the development of baseball from the grassroots by sponsoring clinics for interested children.

Abidoye said that the only way to make the sport popular was to take it to the grassroots with the aim of discovering talents in their infancy.
While enumerating their plans for 2014, Abidoye said that election into the National Association had been fixed for November with the state governor participating.
The coordinator said the state would host the National U-14 championship in the first week of November.
He said that there would also be the U-12, U-13 and U-15 Little League and Baseball competition.
He described Kwara as the home of baseball in Nigeria, saying that if the federation’s programmes received necessary support; the state would gain its ground in the sport.
