BABCOCK Educationist Blames Poor Pay For Low Standard

The Principal, Babcock University High School, Ilishan–Remo, Ogun State, Timothy Adetayo, has blamed poor remuneration of teachers and learning environment for the decline in the country’s standard of education.

He also linked the decline in the sector to decadence among pupils.

Adetayo stated this at the inauguration of officers of the school.

The principal, who advised the government to seek ways of resolving this, noted that education was the elixir for development.

According to him, the poor remuneration has resulted in lack of commitment to duty by teachers.

He also canvassed the teaching of morning devotion in schools in order to improve the morals of the students.

The principal, who urged the new officers of the school to be committed to their fresh mandate, said the appeal was necessary to enable them to lift the institution to loftier heights.

The Chairperson of the Babcock University Schools Management Board, Dr. Janet Ola, who also spoke on the occasion, hailed the members of staff of school for helping to improving the quality of education in the institution.
