The Association of Nigeria Universities Alumni (ANUA) has urged the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to suspend its proposed nationwide protest pending when the association would intervene in the crisis between the Federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
This is coming after the student body had issued a 14-day ultimatum for both parties to resolve their impasse and re-open the various institutions of learning or risk #EndASUUStrike mass protest nationwide.
According to ANUA, the proposed strike was not necessary because the strike issue would soon be resolved. In a statement signed by the Chairman of ANUA, Dr Stephen Olawale Fasakin and ANUA's General Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Wada, the association promised to contribute positively to the resolution of outstanding issues by bringing the knowledge and experience of its members to bear.
