The Abia State University management has been commended for their judicious use of TETFund grants for research and infrastructural development of the University.
The commendation came from the team of the House of Representative Adhoc Committee on Public Accounts, led by Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON, member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency, who came to carry out their oversight functions on the spending of the Accounts of the Federation with particular reference to how TETFUND allocations to the University was used for various specific projects, as allocated.
Honourable Ogah commended the Vice-Chancellor for exhibiting excellent leadership qualities; especially the detailed presentation of the various TETFund projects, across all the locations of the University and the cooperation and high regards given to the Committee by the University Management, promising to help attract more projects to the Institution including a solar power energy project, when they apply for such.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor O. M. Ogbulu thanked the team for their visit, explaining that ABSU is noted for the foundation of integrity, discipline, commitment and excellence laid by the founding fathers and past administrations of the University and assured that his administration will continue to build on the positive legacies of integrity transparency, and prudent management of resources of his predecessor especially in the management of TETFund.
He promised the team every cooperation and support, as they inspect the TETfund projects in the University. The full complement of the University Management, and the Director, Physical planning was present at the meeting.
