Yobe State Ministry of Basic & Secondary Education has announced the commencement of community extra lesson to secondary school students across the state.
The Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry, Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss revealed this on Monday, while receiving some group of secondary school teachers from Geidam Local Government who pledged to volunteer for the program.
Dr. Muhammad Sani said the program will be featuring extra lessons on how to read and write, oral English and understanding of English language.
The program will be launched in Geidam on 14th November, 2020, where the volunteering teachers will be given two hours each out of their times on every Saturday and Sunday to teach for free.
The ministry will train the volunteering teachers before the start of the program. Furthermore, the ministry also encourages Yobe teachers across all communities of the state to volunteer for the program in promoting education in their respective communities.
