The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has given reason why the 2019 JAMB UTME sales of form and registration have been postponed till January. This was revealed by the Chairman of the Governing Board of JAMB Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe.
According to him, the postponement is due to the fact that JAMB is waiting for the federal government to formally approved the reduction of cost of form to N3,500 and also for the reduction in the cost of selling forms to take effect by January as the federal Government earlier announced.
“Therefore, if we now starts selling the forms today, we will still sell at the cost of N5,000 because the approval does not cover for now. That is why we have shifted the sale of JAMB form to any day from first of January.” He stated.
He explained that the reduction in the cost of UTME/DE forms followed recommendations made by management and board of JAMB to the government because it was becoming difficult for some parents to raise the N5,000 currently charged by the board.
He however stated that the reduction in the cost of forms will equally reduce the amount of money that JAMB will be returning to the coffers of the Government next year.
