The Nasarawa State University, Keffi, is set to deploy virtual form of learning for students admitted into the institution for the 2021 and 2022 academic sessions.
The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed stated this while speaking at the opening ceremony of a National Conference (Physical and Virtual Modes) organized by the Faculty of Education, which took place at Assembly Hall on Tuesday, 14th February 2023.
Professor Suleiman who was the chief host of the occasion said the University will deploy both physical and virtual means of learning to accommodate the large number of students who will be admitted into the school, stressing that the ICT arm of the University has been adequately prepared for the task ahead.
He further explained that it is now a thing of joy that postgraduate defense exams are now conducted online.
In his address of welcome, the Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, and Emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III CON, thanked teachers for their support, kindness, and ability to teach noting that not everyone is aware of the more unusual efforts teachers make for the students, he maintained that if you are planning for a year, sow rice, if you are planning for a decade plant trees and if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.
The Conference which was declared open by the special guest of honor and Honorable Commissioner of Education, Hajia Fatu Sabo Jimeta with the theme; Education, Security, and Post-Covid Sustainable Development in Nigeria will feature paper presentations from the Executive Director of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) Professor Ben Ben Akpan, as the keynote speaker.
Other lead paper presenters are the Provost, Federal College of Education, Pankshin, Plateau State, Dr. Amos Bulus Cirfat, and Professor Ada Nicholas Akise, a Former Minister of State 1, Ministry of Education and currently with the Faculty of Education, Benue State University, Makurdi, Nigeria.
