Governor of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has described students as the future which the state relies on, saying it is for that reason that his administration will continue to invest in the state's education sector.
The Governor stated this on Thursday while addressing students of Laro Grammar School, Osogbo who waited at the entrance of the school opposite the State Government House, Oke-Fia to congratulate him on the occasion of his second year in office.
The governor who was going for the commissioning of some projects as part of activities lined up for the second-anniversary celebration on sighting the students immediately got down from his vehicle and joined them to a rousing applause from the excited pupils who immediately swelled in their numbers on sighting the governor in their midst.
Oyetola who assured the students that government will continue to prioritize their issues because the future lies in their hands urged them to repay government's huge investment in the education sector by coming out in flying colours and be good ambassadors of the state.
The obviously excited students congratulated, sang and danced with the Governor on the occasion of the second anniversary of the administration in office, while also thanking him for the restoration of their old school uniforms.
The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin who was also in the midst of the students said it is a feeling of joy and excitement to see the students in their new uniforms, stressing that the feeling is that of nostalgia.
He said the present Government will never come up with any policy that is capable of bringing any sector especially the education sector into a state of chaos, adding the present administration will continue to deliver on the people's wish.
While appreciating Governor Oyetola, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Hon. Jamiu Olawumi said Oyetola has demonstrated his desire to continue to run an all-inclusive government.
