The principal, Phidel College, Idimu, Lagos, Mr. Ben Akintelure, says vocational education will stem the rising unemployment in the country.
He said this at the school’s inauguration, adding that the institution was poised to prepare self-reliant Nigerians.
Stressing that the college offers vocational subjects, he added that pupils were in good stead if they have skills that make them be self-employed in the future.
He said, “It is good for the country to promote vocational skill acquisition, I believe this is the future of the nation.”
Akintelure said the school was committed to nurturing future leaders that would affect the society positively.
“Pupils who study Home Economics, tie and dye, clothing and textile, and music among others, can always fall back on what they learn here,” he said.
Urging parents to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the college, he added, that the institution was committed to producing disciplined pupils.
