The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Prof. Chigozie C. Asiabaka, has been conferred with an award and the honorary membership of the Society for Environmental Health of Nigeria.
The conferment took place during an international conference jointly organized by the Society for Environmental Health of Nigeria and Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria in collaboration with the Institute of Environmental Health Technology, FUTO held at Celestine Onwuliri International Conference Centre, FUTO.
In his speech, the National Chairman,Society for Environmental Health of Nigeria stated that the Vice-Chancellor was conferred with the award for his favourable disposition to environment health issues and establishing the Institute of Environment Health Technology in FUTO.
While accepting the award, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Society for Environmental Health of Nigeria for honouring him with the award and promised to continue to promote environmental health care in the country.
