UTME Score Upgrading Is A Scam, JAMB Warns Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has called has called on the public especially JAMB candidates not to fall victim to a social media account on Facebook calling on candidates to come for their UTME score upgrade.

According to the board, JAMB has no hand in it as it is a scam aimed at defrauding desperate candidates of their hard earned money.

It was also gathered that the face book account also listed alleged names of candidates that have benefited from the result upgrading in a bid to convince the gullible ones.

In a statement made available by the spokesperson of JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB did not make any call for candidates to come for score upgrading and has not authorized anyone or any group to do so on its behalf

“JAMB therefore want to state that the results gotten by candidates from the 2017 UTME were the true reflection of their performance after going through a full proof scoring mechanisms. As such, it did not intend to review the scores or commissioned any body to do that. JAMB has also not been directed by any organ of government to so.

“JAMB wants to use this opportunity to state that its examination is not a fail or pass examination as there are other variables that are considered outside the examination to arrive at a successful admission. There is no need for this desperation as getting “high” scores as being touted by fraudulent characters is not a guarantee for admission.

He said that JAMB is making moves to arrest the perpetrators of this crime as to serve as a deterrent to others who may have the intention of doing so in the future.

He finally called on the public and candidates who have questions to visit the closes JAMB office for cklarificatuions.
