A team of officials of the United States Consulate General, Lagos led by its Cultural Affairs Assistant of the Department of Public Affairs, Mrs Chinenye Uwadileke was in FUTO recently on an academic advancement visit to the University.
Having identified FUTO as one of the few universities in Nigeria with great potentials in teaching, learning, and research, the US team, which is targeting FUTO’s young academics and mid-career applied researchers for the 9-month Fulbright Fellowship addressed academic staff who are in the process of earning their PhD degrees as well as other academics with at least 3 years post doctoral experience who are eligible for the program.
The team also paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. C.C Asiabaka, who commended the group for the visit and expressed his optimism that the targeted students and staff would utilize the opportunity offered by the U.S Educational System in order to exploit its advantages for a sustainable national development.
