Update: police detain deeper life school officials over abuse

The Akwa Ibom State police command has detained some officials of deeper life high school, Uyo over the alleged molestation and sexual abuse of an 11-years-old JSS 1 student, Don Davies Archibong.

The officials were said to have been detained after attending a meeting at the police headquarters summoned by the state Commissioner of Police, Andrew Amiengheme.

The state police spokesperson, Odiko MacDon, confirmed the arrest and detention of some of the school officials and said the police were preparing to arraign “those found culpable”.

In another development, the mother of Don Davis, Deborah Okezie had claimed that a doctor sneaked into a hospital her son was admitted in to receive treatment and tried to inject him with a substance. She accused officials of deeper life school of trying to switch up the story, alleging that the student was an HIV patient, hence the reason for his weight loss.

According to Deborah, the suspect was arrested and detained after the failed attempted to inject her son.
