Prof. Emmanuel Kucha, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, says the institution will host the best NUGA Games in 2016.
Kucha noted that the games would be used to commemorate the university’s silver jubilee.
According to him, the hosting of the games is a dream that has come into reality, adding that the university would source for funds through its mechanised farming initiative.
“The students and the staff have been motivated to host the games.
“It is good news to the university community because it will be celebrating the university’s silver jubilee,” he said.
Kucha said that all the events would be held within the campus to make the games interesting and easier for the athletes, officials and the spectators to move around.
The vice chancellor, who noted that the campus was about 10 kilometers away from the town, added that the university would not rely on external facilities to host the games.
He also said the university would invest on its sport complex through the renovation and construction of modern facilities.
